Nuts About You

This is also for my nephew to send to his girlfriend. For this card I used Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks stamp set with various Hero Arts inks with the leaf stamps. I stamped the squirrel - isn't he adorable-with Memento London Fog ink and proceeded to add some coloring with Copic Markers in the Cool Gray family. The front panel has a die cut heart from Spellbinders. The banner was die cut from Neenah Solar White using the Simon Says Stamp banner die.

Thanks for looking and I hope your fall is colorful!

OCC Copic Markers for Card Makers Coloring Backgrounds

So this was a stretch for me! I have only ever tried coloring a dark background once! But I had to give this a try using Lawn Fawn's Critters in Costume and the pumpkin from So Thankful. Yes this is a birthday card - sentiment from Lawn Fawn Happy Everything - my most used set ever! Why a dog in a costume?  Because my friend Lynn's little Joe Joe ran away and came back right before her birthday! So I just had to color this for her!!

I did the sky background with colors Sandy Allnock demonstrated in class, B93,B95 and B97 - that was scary!! I colored the dog "white" with some C00, C0 and C1 shading and the costume is W5,W7 and W9 and Y28 I think!! The stars are Y18 as Sandy recommended! I colored the pumpkins with YR12, YR16, and YR18! The grass is GYG67 and G29.

Love this class!!

OCC Copic Markers for Card Makers Coloring Critters

Who doesn't love coloring critters! Kelly Marie Alvarez of Lawn Fawn gave us a great day in class! I did color the cute images on the practice sheets but I just had to color up the adorable bunnies, squirrel and cardinal from Lawn Fawn's Snow Day, Joy to the Woods and Critters of the Arctic. I left off the sentiment since I thought the card was enough without it. The tree is from Hero Arts. The background is colored with BG0000 and BG00 and then I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Dots with texture paste to make a snowy background. I covered this with vellum to soften it a bit. The critters were colored with E33, E37 and E39 or W3, W5 and W7. The sequins are from Lawn Fawn and Pretty Pink Posh!

Thanks for looking!

Missing You Card

I made this card for my nephew who is now at college and 5 hours away from his high school sweet heart! I used Simon Says Stamp Thick Stripe background with Navy Hero Arts mid-tone shadow ink. The flowers were die cut from Neenah Solar White cardstock using Penny Black's Bashful daisy die ( I love this die!) and colored using Copic Markers. I added a bit of Glossy Accents to bring some shine to the card. The banner was stamped with Lawn Fawn Bannerific and the sentiment is from Mama Elephant In My Heart stamp set.

Thanks for looking!

Online Card Classes Copic Markers for Card Makers Use Your Practice Sheets

This Copic Marker class has to be one of my favorite classes yet at Online Card Classes. The teachers are phenomenal and the wealth of information is so rich and valuable. Today I have two cards I made with my practice sheets from Day 2 I think. I used the B9s and some BVs for the flowers and the YG9s for the leaves. I did the centers with a white pen.

The inlaid stem for the first card was die cut with my Silhouette Cameo and then colored with some of the high E5 series markers and then inset back into the Neenah Cardstock. The flowers are adhered with foam tape. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

For the second card I die cut Memory Box's grapevine wreath out of thin chipboard and Neenah Solar White and glued the two together. I colored the Neenah Solar White with a few brown Copics - not sure which series and then attached flowers with foam tape. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I really don't like making sympathy cards but sometimes you just have to!

Thanks for looking and go sign up for class here if you are taking it already! It is an excellent value!

Die Cutting for Christmas Cards

Hi, I am a guest over on my friend Jess's blog here! She is a wonderful card maker and I have learned so much from her U Stream Classes. Today's focus is on using digital die cutters for Christmas cards. I have used my Silhouette Cameo for this card.

For this card I selected the Silhouette file Nested Poinsettia (Design ID #15148) and resized it for the front of an A2 card. I then used my Cameo to cut it on some Neenah Solar White cardstock. Once I had all the flowers cut I colored each with Copic Markers. I followed Sandy Allnock's tutorial on coloring poinsettias here. She was using a stamped image but I wanted mine to be dimensional.

I used R12 on all the flowers which are really leaves by the way! And then proceeded to color them in with the darkest being on the bottom. To achieve this I used R32, R35, R39 and R89. Once finished I sketched in leaf veins with a fine line black pen. I adhered the flower together using Glossy Accents and then added silver glass beads to the center with Glossy Accents.

I embossed the back layer of the card with a Life Style Crafts embossing folder - I think it is called Links. I die cut a circle out of another panel of Neenah Solar White using the My Favorite Things Circle Stax dies - I LOVE those! I adhered the front panel to the back panel using some foam tape.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Big Holiday Wishes and the sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Thank you to Jess for having me on her blog and thanks for looking! I hope this inspires you to use your digital die cutting tool for your Christmas cards. It makes quick work of die cutting lots of pieces!
