Masculine card from SSS January Card Kit

Yes I made this card with that card kit! I made the plaid panel using the border stamp included in the kit. I used Hero Arts dye inks on SSS Fog card stock. It was super easy to do. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Apothecary Labels. The wood veneer hearts are from Studio Calico!

Simon Says Stamp December and January Card Kits

I am still trying to work my way through these two kits - well enough to make me not feel guilty about subscribing! LOL!

The background on the first card was done using Sandy Allnock's Copic watercolor technique on Ranger Specialty Stamping paper. I had a lot of fun making this card but I can see my fussy cutting was not quite fussy enough - will have to make another. The other two cards are really just plain and simple but the snow man on the second card is a 15 year old sticker!!! SHOCKING!

Online Card Classes Clean and Simple 4 Day 1 Embossing

Well, I thought I knew a lot about embossing until today! All the cards were magnificent. I tried Jennifer McGuire's technique with masking over wet Versamark ink and adding embossing powder. First go ended in the trash the second one is here. I used an old paisley background stamp so old I do not know who the manufacturer was!!! The die cute sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp!
Next up was the faux enamel technique demonstrated by Julie Ebersole. She made it look soooo easy! I did not have any mat board so I covered some think chipboard with gesso and then tried the technique. However, the gesso started lifting up with the repeated applications of embossing powder!!! But it finally all settled down. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the die cut daisy is Bashful from Penny Black. Off to see the Day 2 videos! Thanks for looking!

Simon Says Stamp Flickr #10 Challenge Use Dots

Hi,
Usually I make one or two cards a weekend but I have been trying very hard lately to work through the ugly stages of making a card or to re-purpose something that just didn't work as I imagined. So this weekend I made 5 cards!!! I find these challenges inspiring. These four cards are for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr #10 challenge to use dots! That was easy because I probably have most of the SSS stamp sets that have dots in them!

For this card I used SSS Watt's Up for the sentiment and stamped with Versafine ink and clear heat embossed. The starbursts are from SSS Cupcake and the dot border is from SSS Happy Every Day! I used Hero Arts and W Plus9 dye inks for all stamping. Sequins are Pretty Pink Posh!

This is a male oriented birthday card. I stamped the grid circles on the back panel using a stamp from SSS Best Mom. The black dots on the background were an attempt to embossing black embossing powder over embossing paste - did not really work. I used SSS Falling Dots stencil for this. The February circle is 10 years old and is from Imagination Project which I am sure doesn't exist anymore!!!! The die cut Happy Birthday is from Little B.

I just had to use the SSS Full Card Bubbles die! The mouse is from Avery Elle Story Book and was colored with Copic W1, W3, and W5 markers. The sentiment is from SSS Birthday Balloons. I added Dew Drops to some of the circles for a bit of sparkle!

This card did not turn out the way I wanted. I stamped the dots with Hero Arts Silver pigment ink and Delicata Golden Glitz. The dots are from SSS Lots of Dots. But I used dots that were too big. I tried to obscure them with TWO sheets of vellum and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. But in reality I need to make it over! The sentiment is from the December SSS Card Kit Sparkle and Shine heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum!

New Baby Card

A couple very close to us is expecting their first baby so I wanted to get a card in the mail quickly!!! I used Mama Elephant Just Hatched for the little baby girl and boy! I colored them with Copics ( R81, R83 and R85 for the girls and B91, B93 and B95 for the baby boy!) and added some shine with Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp From Us stamp set which I love because I often send cards from both my husband and me. The hearts were die cut from a Memory Box die Hearts and Stars, coated with Wink of Stella clear glitter and then covered with Glossy Accents. I stamped the "or" and "?" with MFT Mini Banner Day alphabet. Twine is from Divine Twine and Doodlebug! I used Neenah Solar White 90 lb for card base and the stamping layer! I popped the layer up using foam tape for some added dimension!

Thanks for looking and stay warm in this cold!!
