Snowy Christmas Tree

Still making Christmas cards! This one is for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge! I used embossing paste and glitter embossing powder through the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil. I then die cut the panel using Simon Says Stamp Frames die set. The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas die! The Christmas tree is covered with Distress Stickles glitter and is from a Silhouette die cut file! Thanks for looking!

Birthday Winter Fairy

I really enjoy challenging myself with using stamp sets in a different way than intended. I used this cute fairy from Craftin Desert Divas's Winter Fairies set but colored her in spring tones. I also used Craftin Desert Divas's Floral Wreath set in the background of a 4 bar card (3.5" x 4 7/8"). I wanted the fairy to pop on the background so I did two things. First, I sprayed the panel after it was colored in with W Plus 9 Shimmer Spray. I did this twice for a heavy coating of shimmer which will knock back the brightness. Secondly, I popped the fairy up on foam tape and added some Clear Wink of Stella. The die cut sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas's Sending die and the birthday wishes stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink on a banner is from Craftin Desert Divas's Wishful Thoughts set.

Have a great day!

Playful Pup Left Outside in the Snow

For this card, I used images from The Ink Blot Shop's Playful Pups and Hello Lovely sets. These are large images and easy to color with any medium. I used a W Plus 9 sentiment to finish off because I thought the poor dog might be cold! The window die is from Mama Elephant.

This Yeti Needs Coffee

Yes I do need more coffee - I have not started Christmas shopping! For this card, I used the Yeti from Craftin Desert Divas' Yeti Fun set from the November release. The sentiment is from that set as well. I thought a simple background would be best because I need multiple cups of coffee in one day lol! I hand cut the banner from black card stock and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

 Copic Markers Used:
Yeti: E40, E41, E42 and a little bit of E43 for the main body. Face and tummy are E0000 and E30 with R20 on the cheeks. I colored in the nose with a black Copic Multiliner. Horns/antlers are W00 and 0.
All Reds: R14
Penguin: W10 and 100
Doughnut: R01 and E43

The Abominable Snowman

Yes, I have a sick sense of humor sometimes. When I saw the Scenery Dies from Craftin Desert Divas November release, the mountains reminded me of the Abominable Snowman from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Sooooo I just had to turn the mountains upside down to make this card. With a little encouragement from my friend Jessie, I created a background for the trolls which are from the Snow Happy set by Craftin Desert Divas. I used Distress Oxides for my background - Iced Spruce, Broken China, and Worn Lipstick. I used MFT's mini-cloud stencil and landscape stencil to create the background. I die cut the "teeth"/upside down mountains from Neenah Solar White and covered the panels with Wink of Stella because we know the Abominable Snowman has sparkly, clean teeth. The googly eyes are from Joann Fabrics - I think. #craftindesertdivas

Copic Markers:
R02, R04
Y11, Y13
E0000 and E30 for the faces
R20 for the cheeks

Floral Coffee Cup

Yes I am back to coffee cups! This time I die cut a coffee cup from a panel I stamped with the W Plus 9 Christmas Rose Bouquet. The die is from My Favorite Things Coffee Cup Die-namics. I made the H from the W Plus 9 Fence Border die set and added a Studio Calico wood heart as the dot over my coffee cup. So it is supposed to say! I mounted all of this onto Concord and 9th Barnwood Background stamped in Simon Says Stamp Fog ink and mounted the entire thing on W Plus 9 Cashmere cardstock. The sentiment is from Altenew Crafty Friends stamp set - a must have set! The clear droplets are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I am off to cook Thanksgiving dinner - Happy Thanksgiving!

It is summer somewhere

I thought I should post a couple of florals this week. It is nice and warm here! This flower was stamped at a retreat from a borrowed stamp set. Once I got home, I did not like how I stamped it. So I colored it in with a variety of Copics and cut it out. This really beautiful, large flower is from Concord and 9th's Pretty Petals set. Not sure which stamp set I borrowed at retreat to stamp the leaves -sorry!  I stamped the background with Simon Says Stamp Fog ink using the Concord and 9th Barnwood Background. The sentiment is from W Plus 9 The Crew Garden Club set. I added details to the flower with colored pencil, white gel pen and Glossy Accents.

The background is Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick over the heart which was embossed with white embossing powder - aka embossed resist!

Christmas Ladybug

I downloaded the adorable Pretty Little Lady digital stamp from Craftin Desert Divas and colored her up for Christmas! I thought her dress was too pretty to be just black and red for the holidays. I added white Wink of Stella for some silvery sparkle to her dress. I die cut the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn die Fa La La La. The tag front was embossed with wood background stencil and die cut from
W Plus 9 Anastasia Tag Die and the background is from Hills and Slopes from Mama Elephant. Sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and enamel dots on the mushrooms are Beetle Bug from Doodle Bug.

I CASEd a recent card of Jennifer McGuire's for this layout. I love Jennifer's clean and simple style! I downloaded this adorable Bundled Up Bunny digital stamp from Craftin Desert Divas. The image comes complete with scenery!!! I chose to not add anything further to the image as this bunny is adorable!!! The postage stamp dies are from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled Nuts About You and the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

Copic Markers Used:
Bunny: W00, W1

Nerdy Snowman

Today is a card I made for my husband who is very nerdy to say the least. These digital stamps, Meoples Nerdy Snowman and Dress Up Snowman were downloaded from CC Designs. In the scene I have the nerdy snowman giving his date a bouquet of snowflakes. The snowflakes were cut with MFT snowflake die and covered with Crystal Stickles. I die cut the snow hills from Mama Elephant Stitched Borders. The sentiment is from W Plus 9 stamp set Biggest Fan. I had fun making this and am planning on putting it in my husband's Christmas Stocking!

Santa Needs Coffee

More of those of those adorable holiday coffee cups from Craftin Desert Divas. These are digital stamps so I was able to make the pyramid without any messy stamping and masking!!! Whoo hoo!!! I colored in the cups and then cut it out and put them on a panel. I distressed the panel with Tim Holtz Splatters stencil and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide - this idea came from my friend Jessie Banks. This card would not have happened without her.

all greens on cups - G40, G43, G46

Concord and 9th Trim a Tree

I have another Christmas card today even though it is in the high 70s here in Florida. For this card, I embossed the Concord and 9th  Lace Leaf stamp multiple times with white embossing powder and then applied Worn Lipstick, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides to it and then die cut the image with the tree from Trim the Tree. The Rejoice sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and the background is Simon Says Stamp  Stamp Falling Snow Stencil in W Plus 9 Lake House ink. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Excuse the photo. I am still searching for a place to shoot photos in this house. Going outside has proved too sunny lol!!

Foxy Coffee Cup

I adore this digital stamp of the fox coffee cup from Craftin Desert Divas. I just had to color it with Copics. For the back panel, I used Neat and Tangled's Swirly Twirly Stencil and used Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink. I added a vertical sentiment from My Favorite Things Thanks A Latte heat embossed on vellum. Some gold sequins and it was done. For the fox, I used a color combination Sandy Allnock just used on a fox: YR04, YR18, and E19! It is perfect for foxes. The fur is W00 and W01. The scarf is BG70, BG75 and BG78 with a 0 blender and some Wink of Stella. I added the eyelashes with a 0.03 Copic Multiliner.

Thursday, November 9, 2017

I am back with another of my stamp obsessions - The Crew Sets from W Plus 9. For this card I used images from The Crew Garden Club and The Crew School Days and their coordinating die cuts. The presents are from W Plus 9 Christmas Nutcracker and I used a triangle from the Geometrics set to make the lights. I colored the images with Copic sketch markers and popped them up. Oh and the Ho Ho Ho greeting is from W Plus 9 Santa's Reindeer - I love that set!! Truthfully, I stamped one of the background images upside down so I  covered the mistake up with the Ho Ho Ho in W Plus 9 Mojito ink because I was not starting over - straight lines are hard for me lol!!! The background is stamped from one of the sentiments in the Crew School Days in Simon Says Stamp Fog ink.

Concord and 9th Tree Ring Background Ornament

I said I was obsessed with this Tree Ring Background from Concord and 9th and I still am. Today it wanted to be a Christmas ornament. I heat embossed it with an older sparkling embossing power and then added Pumice Stone distress ink. I die cut the laurel wreath with some pine green paper and die cut the stag from silver heat embossed paper. Both the stag and the laurel wreath are from the Essentials by Ellen collection from Ellen Hutson. I heat embossed the sentiment using W Plus 9 Silver Bells stamp set. Easy peasy once I got the twine bow tied!

Frosty Hello Lovely Winter

After much encouragement from a dear friend, Jessie Banks, I decided to blog today which means I have spent hours relearning photoshop!

For this card, I used Concord and 9th Hello Lovely and Neat and Tangled's Hello Winter die! I stamped the floral image with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink and used Copic Markers to color it. The base color of the main flower is YR0000 and then I used BG70, BG72, and BG79 to add that lovely frosty blue. I die cut winter from an old - very old - piece of Bazzill card stock and add Wink of Stella and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to it and backed it with the shadow cut in vellum. I left this to dry for 24 hours and then added Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for looking and I hope those of you with snow are enjoying it while I look at my pool!

Neat and Tangled Bloom

Hi! I always struggle with how to use a stamp differently from how the designer intended. But when I saw the die that goes with the flower border from Neat and Tangled's Bloom set from their latest release I decided it could be embossed on vellum and made into a white lace background. The sentiment is from their Flamingo Floatie set!

Waffle Flower Bear vs Bees

I haven't blogged in ages!!!!!!!!!!!! So I thought I would today as it is raining here yet again in Florida!

For this card I was inspired by Sandy Allnock's jungle car race card and it is a masterpiece! So I thought Mr. Bear could be furiously pedaling away from some furious bees - ok they are cute bees.....but perhaps Mr. Bear got into their hive. Hence, the attack. I used Waffle Flower's Happy Day stamp set and Hero Arts Rain or Shine which was an add-on from the March monthly card kit. All coloring was done with Copics and I added a bit of detail with a white Signo-ball pen, Glossy Accents and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The googly eyes are from the local craft store. I added those because the bear needed to look like he was in a frenzy! I am going to try this technique again so I can get the idea of movement across better. Thanks for looking!
