Picket Fence Studios Giveaway Winner and a Quick Card

Hi,
First, I have a winner for the stencil giveaway. It is Cindy Holmes. Please contact me so I can forward your email to Picket Fence Studios!!!! There is a Contact Me form on the right hand side of the blog.

Second I have a quick card. I love these flying reindeer and the sentiment from Santa's Sleigh Ride stamp set..

I first stamped the reindeer in a pattern on Neenah Solar White 90lb card stock and then used various shades of brown copics to color them in. I did give Rudolph a red enamel nose - I just had too...lol! I then stamped the snow flake using a grey pigment ink. Easy card to make.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoying an early winter lol! See you soon!

W Plus Butterfly Mandala and Hexagon Clear Cut Dies

Hi,
Just a quick post and video today. I recently purchased most of W Plus 9's latest release. I couldn't help myself.....and I may purchase more LOL! I made this card using the mandala and the next to the smallest hexagon die. It was so easy to make. The sentiments are also from the Butterfly Mandala set. Really a great buy. I have more cards planned with it.

In order to make the card, I found three coordinating pieces of card stock - any 3 colors will work. I then stamped the mandala on to them with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Fine Detail White embossing powder. I used my MISTI for all my stamping. Then using the next to smallest hexagon die, I just die cut many pieces of paper. I arrange them all in a pattern and trimmed the background down to size. I then stamped the hello sentiment in W Plus 9 Nautical Navy and filled in the white areas of the letters with clear Wink of Stella and some Glossy Accents. While that was drying, I stamped the smaller sentiment onto the darkest card stock and embossed with the same Hero Arts embossing powder. Easy peasy card to make! I hope you give it a try with whatever you have in your stash!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back later in the week.

Picket Fence Stamps Circle Stencils Giveaway

Hi,
Just popping in with a fun giveaway. Nicole from Picket Fence Studios is generously letting me give away a set of the three circle and mask stencils. I used the medium sized stencil with my Life Changing Blender Brushes to make this card. You can see the three stencils in the photograph. Please leave a comment below and the winner will be announced next week!

I used Distress Oxide Lucky Clover to blend into the circle. I then stamped Santa and the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored all this in with Copics but you could use colored pencils. I stamped the greeting with Versafine Onyx Black ink. At the end I splashed on some Sheer Shimmer spray.

Picket Fence Studios September Holiday Release

Hi,
I love this new Holiday release from Picket Fence Studios. I made four cards using a few of the amazing sets from this release from Picket Fence Studios. I have a few more cards in the pipeline -lol!  I have a You Tube video tutorial, linked below, on the girl going to a Christmas party card. In the next few days, I will post here on how I made the other three cards with close-up photos of them.

I started off by embossing an A2 card with a snowflake embossing folder. The embossing folder is from years ago but I will try and find one similar to link below. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black using my MISTI and began the Copic coloring process. I made, remade and then remade the card  - in the video you will see it all and my mess of a desk!

List of Copic Markers Used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20
Lips: R35, R37
Eye Shadow: BG72, BG70
Hair: E33, E35, E37, E39, E29
Outfit: G20, G24, G29 and R35 and R37

Picket Fence Studios Purple Witch

I think this is my favorite of the Halloween cards. I stamped the witch from Wicked Together in Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves and overstamped with Versamark. I then used clear embossing powder to heat emboss. I found a star stencil - an old one so I found something similar and linked that up for you - and applied Hero Arts Silver ink using the blender brushes. It was such an easy card to make. I added some sequins from Hero Arts. I mounted the panel on an A2 sized purple panel.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon with a new season of cards!

Picket Fence Studios - Broom in the Sky

Hi,
For this Halloween card, I used several blue shades of distress oxide on a Distress watercolor paper to make a blue border for my broom from Yes I Do Drive Stick. I stamped the broom with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used clear embossing powder. I then stamped the sentiment from If The Broom Fits using Versafine Onyx Black ink. This was so easy to make. I finished it off by adding some  sequins from Simon Says Stamp.

Thank you and please come back soon;

Picket Fence Studios: Wicked Together Gilded Pumpkin and Cat

Hi,
I just could not resist playing with my alcohol inks and some gold foil. I added the inks in different layers onto Yupo paper and blew them around a bit with a straw. I let this dry for 1.5 minutes as recommended by Kelly Latevola and then added the Deco gold foil. SOOOOO much that I had to heat emboss the pumpkin and cat with clear embossing ink on black card stock. I ran this image covered with gold foil through my laminator without a carrier sheet. I love how it turned out. The sentiment was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I added some gold sequins here and there to finish out the card!

Thanks for stopping by! I should have a new video up soon!

Picket Fence Studios: Hanging by a Spider

Hi,
I had fun making this very traditional Halloween card using some Picket Fence Studio stamps and a frame die from W Plus 9. I heat embossed the spider and sentiment from If the Broom Fits. I stamped first in Versafine Onxy Black and then using clear embossing powder to heat emboss. I did the same with the sentiment. I then die cut the frame from Bazzill Licorice card stock. I added a few sequins and called it done!

Using Picket Fence Studios Peony Bouquet : Lacy Card Front

Hi, Susan here for the first time on the blog!!! For this card I used Jennifer McGuire's genius technique to make a lacy card front using our Peony Bouquet stamp set. This stamp set is packed full of gorgeous blossoms, buds and leaves and lends itself easily to this technique. For ink, I used W Plus 9's Limelight and Falling for Blue. I applied Limelight using our Life Changing Blender Brushes - they are amazing!!!!! I have included a You Tube video tutorial.

Thank you for stopping by the blog. I hope you give this card a try as it is fun to do and has so many possibilities.

Picket Fence Stamps Flying By to Say Hi for Fall Cards

Hi,
I have a quick card today using Picket Fence Stamps Flying By to Say Hi and On the Ocean. I used one of the ocean borders to make the swirling clouds. I colored the fairy with Copics. I used YR04, YR18 and E09 for the body. The face was colored with E000, E00, E11, and E04 with R20 for the cute cheeks. The green leaves are simply YG11, YG13 and YG17. The yellow leaves are Y11, Y15, and YR24. The brown leaves are the same color as the body.

I heat embossed the sentiment with Ranger Fine Detail White embossing powder. For the blended back ground I used Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue with the second largest blender brush. I then overstamped the blended area with more Audrey Blue. Oh and this is a 4 Bar card - dimensions are 3 1/2 by 4 7/8 which is the perfect size for this little fairy. I used a regular A2 envelope to mail cards this size and have not had a problem.

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back with more cards this week!

Picket Fence Studio Peony Bouquet Stamp, Foiling and Large Background Stamps

Hi,

I finally got my first of many cards made for the new Picket Fence Studio Design Team. I am thrilled to be a member of the team. PF Studio stamps are high quality photo polymer and are super cute. For my first card, I am using the Peony Bouquet set and So Proud of You. I decided to pull my laminator out of its box, I have had it for a year,.........and use it for this very preppy card!

Here is another view that shows off the gold foiling:

I have linked below to a video tutorial at my You Tube channel. Let me know if you have any questions!

My Sweet Petunia and Crackerbox Stamps Blog Hop

Hi,
It is time for another blog hop. Today we are pairing up with So Suzy Stamps. I selected several ocean based mounted rubber stamps. I forgot how wonderful it is to stamp with deeply etched rubber. I "designed" my card in my head during Shark Week but I never made it until yesterday. This meant 3 revisions LOL!!! I used Lloyd the Diver, Trigger the Sea Horse and Jaws to make this card. The background is ink smooshing using Distress Oxides.

I have a video tutorial about how I made and then unmade and then made my card......and a big blooper!

As for the hop, there are prizes for two winners. One will receive a $50 gift certificate to So Suzy Stamps and the other winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to My Sweet Petunia! Comments must be left prior to 11:59PM CST on August 24th. The winner of the So Suzy gift certificate will be announced on the So Suzy blog on August 31st and the winner of the My Sweet Petunia gift certificate will be announced Tuesday, August 28th. Next on the hop is Lindsay Adreon from So Suzy!!! I cannot wait to see what she does!

My Sweet Petunia Team Tuesdays with Susan

Hi,
It is my turn today on the MSP blog. I got out my Misti and made this cute card using Honey Bee Mermaid Song and Ocean Borders. I used a new tool - the fabulous new Life Changing Blender Brushes to create the background.

Here is a link to my You Tube video tutorial on making this card:

In a nutshell or should I say seashell, I stamped the large background with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then used the 2nd largest brush and 3 distress oxides to create the background - emboss resist technique.

I stamped and colored in my mermaid with Copic markers - she is supposed to be an above water mermaid posing on rocks but I wanted her to be under the water. I decided you can blow a conch shell underwater too lol!

I added a piece of vellum over the background and then adhered the mermaid. Super easy and super fun. I will be back with a review of the blender brushes.

W Plus 9 Wedding Card

Hi,

My sweet sister requested a hand made card for a wedding she is attending. So I whipped out my
W Plus 9 florals and went a stamping lol. For the Copic coloring I followed a tutorial on You Tube on the W Plus 9 channel that Dawn Woleslage made about using Copics to color Modern Anemones and Leaves. I stamped the Congratulations with Versamark and heat embossed using Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I made some stems and wrapped them in Hug Snug Vintage Seam Binding and proceeded to assemble the bouquet.

Birthday Azaleas

Hi, For this card I really wanted to make something special as this was for a dear friend. I really love Kathy Racoosin's innovative background. On a piece of Neenah Solar White, I used varying shades of pigment ink to make this background.

I then colored in the Forever Azaleas digi stamp from Power Poppy. After cutting the image out, I adhered it onto the ombre pigment ink panel, using matte medium. I, then, die cut the whole panel with a cover plate. I raised up each of the squares to give this card some dimension.

Get Cracking on Christmas Challenge

Hi,
I actually made a Christmas card for this hop.....I joined the hop to make myself think about Christmas cards. However, looking out my window at palms trees and a pool made it very difficult. When I told my husband I had made a Christmas, his jaw dropped. "You made a Christmas card???"

Yes, finally my Christmas stamps got used once at least. I used Power Poppy's adorable set called Frosted Gingerbread and the Snowflake Fusion cover plate die from My Favorite things. I might have added some Stickles LOL!!!

Next stop on the hop is my good friend and super-talented Jessie Banks! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Now go "get crackin" on those Christmas cards! The list of supplies used is at the end of the post.

So I sent this cute pig from Honey Bee Stamps into the pool of chocolate and pastries. This is a great set - see link below. She doesn't like her shading so I will be making another perhaps with a male pig. Please notice the gold halo that is for me since I did not break my diet LOL!

My Sweet Petunia Misti and Renke Blog Hop

Hi,
I have a card for today's collaborative blog hop between My Sweet Petunia and Alexandra Renke. Oh products I have received would be hoarded forever except I had an assignment to complete - they are that nice! The stamps are of the highest quality photo-polymer and the dies cut like butter. The paper is a cardmaker's dream. It is beautifully patterned, heavy weight and card fronts can be made from it without a cracked fold. Seriously, the paper was so yummy that I had a very difficult time cutting it. The picture does not do the papers justice at all.

I used the star border stamp to make strips of paper and cut three sheets of 12 x 12" paper into triangles to make the card front. I then die cut the sentiment out from the You Are Sweet die which despite its delicacy - cut so very easily. Here is a close up of the paper and stamping. Please excuse it.

Since this is a blog hop, there are prizes! Please leave a comment on each blog you visit. Two winners will be selected from all the blogs. One winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to the My Sweet Petunia store and the other will win a $50 gift certificate to www.alexandra-renke.com!!! Comments need to be entered by 11:59PM, Sunday, June 17th. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 19th on the My Sweet Petunia and Alexandra Renke's blogs. Have fun hoping. Next on the list is Judith Versluis whom I am sure has something beautiful to share with you!!

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Please leave a comment below to have a chance to win!!! Have fun hopping!

Craftin Desert Divas June Release Day 2

Hi,
CDD release week is so much fun!!! This month I had the pleasure of working with our new Waves set and the new Ice Cream Treat sets. I have four cards for today. First up the most important to me anyway.....lol!!!

The Gators' Baseball Team is playing in the Regionals as I wrote this - I hope they are going to the College World Series as this is published. This is a very versatile set. You can give your Gator royal blue and orange scales when you are a Gators fan! Go Gators!

Next up is my surfer dude. I cut the surf boards by repeatedly stamping the gator surfer and cutting off the board.

Next up are my three cones from the Ice Cream Treat set. I FINALLY got out my Zigs and found that I actually liked them but only on Bristol Smooth card stock.
And finally, one of my favs - the upside down strawberry cone but with all its drips it looks like an octopus - I am betting that was on purpose!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying release week. Products go live in the store on Friday whoo hoo!!
