Picket Fence Studios November Release: Coffee Understands

I just had to use her - she needed coffee and so do I!!! First, I must admit I was heavily inspired by Dawn Woleslage latest card to use some chunky glitter enamel embossing powder.

First, I inked a Neenah 110 lb Solar White panel with Versamark. I then applied Shabby Chic White enamel embossing powder by Stampendous and heat set it. WARNING: even with heating from below first I had chunks of embossing powder all over. Cleaned up easily with a swiffer.

Then using, our new background Rough Around the Edges striped background, I stamped that over the embossed panel with Versamark and applied Aged Gold enamel embossing powder. Oh my gosh such a beautiful, luscious embossing powder.

For the tag, I cut that out using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Tag and then stamped the girl in our new Picket Fence Studios Intense Black Hybrid Ink and colored her in with Copics. I added the sentiment and sprinkled on some of the aged gold embossing powder. I then trimmed out the main panel and mounted with some foam tape - it will need this reinforcement - onto a Neenah 110lb A2 top folding card!

Impression Obsession Fall Colors Challenge: White Pumpkins

Hi Everyone!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be guest designing for Impression Obsession for the next few months. I am so exited and honored to work for this company as I have been buying their stamps for years and I really do mean years. The card below was made with two stamps that are about 10-15 years old. They have withstood the test of time both style wise and quality. They both are red rubber cling stamps which I love working with. This card is for the Fall Colors Challenge which can be found here. There is a $25 gift certificate to Impression Obsession for the winner.

I kept the layout fairly straightforward as this is one of the first times I used my pencils with no line coloring. First, I stamped it in white pigment ink onto Neenah Desert Storm and proceeded color it all in with my Prismacolor pencils. I then die cut it with the medium rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die set.

Pencils Used:
Pumpkins: All the French Greys
Butterfly: Periwinkle, Indigo, Jade, Celadon, Peacock, Black and White
Sky: White, Slate Grey and a bit of Blue Peacock

Thank you for stopping by! Please come and play in the challenge here!

Picket Fence Studios November Release: Chilly Coffee Day

This release is soooooo good. Just wait for what else we have in store for you. Today I have a card I made using Jill Girl. She looks gorgeous in her chunky yarn scarf. I popped her onto a shaker card background using the Need More Coffee background stamp. I used MFT Cement Gray for the background. The rest of the stamping was done using Picket Fence Studios Intense Black hybrid ink. It worked perfectly with Copic markers used in this card and it stamps crisply.

I then cut a window in an A2 sized panel using the longest of the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and the mid-sized Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square dies. The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios Kylee Boo.

Copics Used:
Face: E000, E00, E01, E11 and R20. BG70 and BG72 on the eyes.
Hair: E33, E35, E37 and E29
Scarf: W00, W1, W3, W5, W7
Coat: I may not have this correctly listed. E99, E97, E13, E07, E09 and YR30. Then I used a rag dampened with Colorless Blender solution to give texture to the coat.

Thank you for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with more from the release!

First, this hop is a little bit different. The links to the hop can be found on the Unity Stamp  Co website or My Sweet Petunia. There is also a hop on Instagram so go over there and hop too for additional prizes! My Instagram account is: @susan_wymer.

So for my card I decided to combine stamp sets. One set is a spring set, Oh Splendid Spring, and one is a Christmas set, A Time of Peace!

I heavily employed my Misti in all aspects of this project lol! I stamped the background on the diagonal using the Peace on Earth sentiment from A Time of Piece and W Plus 9 Fairy Dust ink. I used the L shaped tool from the Creative Corners set to align the stamp as I went across and up and down the panel.

Next, I stamped the focal image - the two critters - from Oh Splendid Spring in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock. Using my Copic markers I colored in the image and then fussy cut it out. Using my MISTI, I stamped the main sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed with Judikins Winter Wonderland embossing powder.

Polar Bear: W00, W1, W3 and a tiny bit of W5. I added R20 to the cheeks and ears.
Mouse: N0, N1, N4 with R20 on cheeks and ears
Flower and Shirt: R32, R35 and R37
Stem: YG67

A You Tube tutorial is linked below.

Ostriches, Peacock, Multiple Stamp Companies, OH MY

I might have gone a bit crazy with this card. I saw the peacocks on a recent trip to My Favorite Things in Eustis, FL. Then, I thought of the ostrich with its head in the sand from W Plus 9 and this large sentiment from Honey Bee. Thus, this business envelope sized card was born.

First, I cut a piece of Neenah 80 lb card stock to 3.5" X 9" long for the front panel. Then, I cut a piece of Neenah 110 lb card stock to 3.5" x 9.5". I scored it at 1/2". I then cut another piece of 3.5" x 9". Using Scor-tape I folded the longer 110 card stock over the shorter one to make a side folding card.

I stamped all the images in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored everything including the sand with Copics. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx black.

Picket Fence Studios: A Crafty Fox Uses Her Old Paper Crimper

I was very crafty and pulled out my old paper crimper after I saw that Dawn from W Plus 9 used one this past weekend. I used a sentiment and image from Picket Fence Studios Crafty Like A Fox. I colored the image with a variety of Copics because I just could leave well enough alone. I have linked up a video below that has a step by step.

Picket Fence Studios: A Bear Family Winter

I told you in my last post that I was so in love with the theme "families are everything" so I used it again but from Picket Fence Studios. For this card, I used Picket Fence Studios A Bear Kind of Winter to make a scene...well a harmonious scene I hope lol! I started by doing some ink blending with Distress oxides using the Life Changing Blender Brushes onto Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock. I heat set it and left it to dry.

While things were drying, I stamped the bears onto Neenah Solar White 80 lb with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then used very few colors of Copics to color in the bears and there hand knitted accessories! The bears were colored with: W00, W1, W3 or N0,N1 and N3 or E41, E42 and E43. I added colorless blender to all to blend these very light colors. Their clothes are colored with BG70 and BG72 and YG61 and YG63.

Once the background was dry I carefully stamped part of the large stamp from All That Glitters onto the background with Versamark ink. I used a glittery white embossing powder to form that cloud of snow at the top.

I hand cut the snow hill....because on the actual panel I had stamped my sentiment upside down...I was not going back to the beginning. I used my Misti to get the sentiment centered on the hill. I then composed my scene. Easy, fast and fun!

Simon Says Stamp November 2018 Card Kit: Family is Everything!

I have been noticing a theme lately in my heart and stamp sets. One that says family is everything. I now have two stamp sets that have this sentiment. At a crafty retreat I was given this Simon Says Stamp November 2018 card kit by a friend. I am so grateful for it. This stamp set is gorgeous and the kit has a lot of great paper and embellishments packed into it. I made this card while at the Retreat. Because I fly there, I borrow almost everything from friends including inks. I, admit with all the wonderful chatting and laughing with friends that I forgot to write down exactly what I used. I have given my best guess below lol!

This card was sooooo easy to make. I simply stamped this leaves in fall colored Distress Oxides onto Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock. I then cut them out and arranged them in a bouquet of leaves or a spray of leaves. Once I knew where the spray of leaves was going I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment. I then added the butterfly from Tim Holtz (in the kit) and used Glossy Accents to adhere it.

Thanks for falling by (pun intended)!

Picket Fence Studios October Release: Rustic Snowmen on a Mantle

All I could think of when I saw this stamp set was having these little snowmen on a rustic mantle piece. So I painted one with a rough wood background. I first stamped the images with Versafine Onyx black onto Arches 140 lb cold press watercolor paper and painted them in various shades of grays. I, then, fussy cut them. The grays were created with varying amounts of Daniel Smith Ultramarine Blue and Quinacridone Gold. I used Opera Pink and Cobalt Turquoise for the clothing. The brown was a mix of Quinacridone Gold and Burnt Sienna - I think!!! The background was also created with the same grays on the same arches paper. The mantle is part of the stamp set and was fussy cut as well.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Ring Around the Foxes - Picket Fence Release Day 4

For my last card for Release week, I just had to make a wreath out of these adorable scampering foxes in Crafty Like a Fox. I used a circle die cut as a guide and just stamped out a wreath using some florals from other Picket Fence sets. Easy peasy!

Thanks for coming by again! I am at a crafty retreat and hopefully making more cards to post here. Chances are I will just be chatting and not doing a thing lol!

What is winter without a gnome? Picket Fence Studios Release Day 3

This gnome is adorable. I kept this card clean and simple - well for me - and just added some shimmer splatter and sequins. I made a cluster of snowflakes using some old glitter paper. Underneath that I have used embossing paste with a snowflake stencil! I did add Frosted Lace Stickles to his beard - I couldn't resist!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back on Thursday with my last card for the Release. BUT I have more stamps from this release so I plan on using them!

A Fall Lily Bouquet - Picket Fence Stamps

I really love all of the new release from Picket Fence but the Lily Bouquet stole my heart!

I wanted to try no line coloring again with my Copics as I am still learning. I follow Dawn Woleslage's from W Plus 9 You Tube tutorial here. I use this technique for the leaves as well. Then for a few hours I proceed to color this in. I stamped on Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock. I struggled with the stamens......I need to learn how to color these. I am seeing Dawn on Thursday at Retreat and asking for a lesson!!!!!!

Copics Used:
Red Lily: R81, R83, R85, R56 and RV99. My undercoat is YR0000. I added a bit of G20 just because.
Yellow Lily: Y02, Y08, E99, My undercoat is YR0000. I also added some V99 and G20.
Orange Lily: YR65, E07, E97, E99, E18, E17 and an undercoat of G20 with pops of YR0000.
Leaves: YG00, G20, G24, YG63, YG67

PIcket Fence Studios October Release Day

We have such an amazing release this month! I made four relatively quick cards with the stamp sets I received. Ok, I admit that coloring on the lily took a lot longer - 4 hours and lots of Copics. I will post more on that card tomorrow. First up:

You know I love the Picket Fence Studios Girls collection and this set met all my expectations - and who can resist a wine glass. I had so much fun coloring her in Copics.

Another obsession - Gnomes and I love this little guy!

These foxes can be used in so many different scenes - winter, fall and spring and perhaps, summer. I created this quick wreath by stamping around circle die. Easy peasy!

Last but not least - my favorite - the Lily Bouquet! I was swooning when I opened it. I will post more on the colors I used tomorrow. Today's post is just to get going on the Release!

Picket Fence Studios Rose Bouquet Stamp Set

Happy Weekend! For today’s card, I used the Rose Bouquet stamp set – I am obsessed with it. I have always loved roses. My grandfather had a small but spectacular rose garden. I used to help him fertilize, cut roses for my Nana, and prepare the beds for winter. They lived near a river so the soil was just scrumptious for the roses and for making a yummy compost as well. Many of my grandfather’s roses were tea roses which are the type featured in the Rose Bouquet stamp set.
I stamped the largest bouquet several times on Arches cold press 140 lb watercolor paper to make a background. Then proceeded to paint the image with watercolor paints. I used Daniel Smith Quinacradone Coral, Mijello Mission Gold Permanent Rose and Daniel Smith Rose of Ultramarine. For the background I mixed two blues and that resulted in a desaturated blue. Next time I will use a dilution of Cobalt blue. Then I proceeded to add too much splatter – but we all need to learn right? Below is a You Tube tutorial on my channel. Feel free to leave me questions there or over here on the blog.

Thank you for stopping by! Tomorrow is Release Day for Picket Fence Studios October Release - I will be back. It is an awesome release!

Easiest Card Ever with Rina K's Mandala Maker

Quick post on a card I threw together last night. I wanted to use my new Mandala Maker stamp set but I did not have much time. I also wanted to try color smashing a la Kathy Racoosin. Thus, this easy peasy pretty card was born!!!

I used several different Copic makers. Ideally I should have changed up the colors in the circle second from the top. However, color smashing is so much fun!!!!

My Sweet Petunia Team Tuesdays: Colored Pencils and Foiling

I am back for another card tutorial at My Sweet Petunia. However, I did not color petunias in this tutorial, I colored cosmos lol! I really wanted to color a foiled background with colored pencils so I used the Simon Says Stamp Cosmos background and the foiling via heat embossing to make this card.

I really enjoyed seeing this come to life. I did use Polychromos Pencils in Cadmium Yellow and Green Gold for the darker color. I first applied a layer of white colored pencil - you can use any white pencil; however, I think a white Prismacolor or white Luminance would be best. The video below will give you more details.

I have links to the supplies used below. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section below.

W Plus Butterfly Mandala and Hexagon Clear Cut Dies

Just a quick post and video today. I recently purchased most of W Plus 9's latest release. I couldn't help myself.....and I may purchase more LOL! I made this card using the mandala and the next to the smallest hexagon die. It was so easy to make. The sentiments are also from the Butterfly Mandala set. Really a great buy. I have more cards planned with it.

In order to make the card, I found three coordinating pieces of card stock - any 3 colors will work. I then stamped the mandala on to them with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Fine Detail White embossing powder. I used my MISTI for all my stamping. Then using the next to smallest hexagon die, I just die cut many pieces of paper. I arrange them all in a pattern and trimmed the background down to size. I then stamped the hello sentiment in W Plus 9 Nautical Navy and filled in the white areas of the letters with clear Wink of Stella and some Glossy Accents. While that was drying, I stamped the smaller sentiment onto the darkest card stock and embossed with the same Hero Arts embossing powder. Easy peasy card to make! I hope you give it a try with whatever you have in your stash!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back later in the week.

I used Distress Oxide Lucky Clover to blend into the circle. I then stamped Santa and the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored all this in with Copics but you could use colored pencils. I stamped the greeting with Versafine Onyx Black ink. At the end I splashed on some Sheer Shimmer spray.

Picket Fence Studios September Holiday Release

I love this new Holiday release from Picket Fence Studios. I made four cards using a few of the amazing sets from this release from Picket Fence Studios. I have a few more cards in the pipeline -lol!  I have a You Tube video tutorial, linked below, on the girl going to a Christmas party card. In the next few days, I will post here on how I made the other three cards with close-up photos of them.

I started off by embossing an A2 card with a snowflake embossing folder. The embossing folder is from years ago but I will try and find one similar to link below. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black using my MISTI and began the Copic coloring process. I made, remade and then remade the card  - in the video you will see it all and my mess of a desk!

List of Copic Markers Used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04, R20
Lips: R35, R37
Eye Shadow: BG72, BG70
Hair: E33, E35, E37, E39, E29

Picket Fence Studios Purple Witch

I think this is my favorite of the Halloween cards. I stamped the witch from Wicked Together in Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves and overstamped with Versamark. I then used clear embossing powder to heat emboss. I found a star stencil - an old one so I found something similar and linked that up for you - and applied Hero Arts Silver ink using the blender brushes. It was such an easy card to make. I added some sequins from Hero Arts. I mounted the panel on an A2 sized purple panel.

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon with a new season of cards!

Picket Fence Studios - Broom in the Sky

For this Halloween card, I used several blue shades of distress oxide on a Distress watercolor paper to make a blue border for my broom from Yes I Do Drive Stick. I stamped the broom with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used clear embossing powder. I then stamped the sentiment from If The Broom Fits using Versafine Onyx Black ink. This was so easy to make. I finished it off by adding some  sequins from Simon Says Stamp.

Thank you and please come back soon;
