My Sweet Petunia MISTI and Visible Image Stamps Blog Hop

Hi, I am here today with a card and a video for the My Sweet Petunia MISTI and Visible Image Stamps blog hop. Visible Image Stamps are very high quality and their stencils are well-made and well-designed.
Here is my card:

I used alcohol inks and the ghosting technique with Archival Inks and the Visometry stamp set from Visible Image. I used She Smiled sentiment stamp for the main focal point.

Link to a quick video is below:

So up for grabs in this hop are two gift certificates - one $50 to My Sweet Petunia or one $50 gift certificate to Visible Image - I had sooooo much fun shopping there! Shipping was quick too! You can find the Mini-Misti here. Here is a banner showing some of the Visible Image stamp sets!

Craftin Desert Divas Stencils, Water and Distress Oxides

Hi,
I finally got brave enough to try to spritz a stencil with water and layer it over distress oxides. I have been leery of this technique but I actually like it more than blending ink through a stencil!!!! Here is the card which will go to my little granddaughter who has many tutus!

I have a You Tube video tutorial:

First I started with Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and blended in Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides.

Then I moved the paper out of harm's way and misted water onto our Cloudy Sky stencil.

I carefully placed the wet side of the stencil onto the inked card stock and patted it to remove some of the ink.

This left behind a faint white line where the stencil lines were. I then splatted Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray onto the Bristol and let it dry.

I finished off by stamping an image from the Twinkle Toes stamp set and coloring it in with Copics. I used C1, C3, C5 and C7 for the body and V01, V04, V06 for the tutu. I heat embossed a sentiment onto black card stock. I then cut the card down to a 4 bar size - 3.5" by 4 7/8" as I thought that size brought more attention to my ballerina.

Here is the card again:

I hope you like the card and thank you for visiting the blog.

MISTI My Sweet Petunia Team Tuesday

Hi,
I am Susan Wymer and I am delighted to be a member of the My Sweet Petunia design team! I love my MISTI - full confession - I have 3. I have a pretty significant tremor in my left hand and the MISTI has made it possible for me to stamp straight again. My blog is: www.stampbackandrelax.blogspot.com and I am Susan_Wymer on Instagram if you want to see more of my cards. Full disclosure I am also on the Craftin Desert Divas Design Team but I made this video simply because I love this Hello Beautiful stamp set and the technique of coloring with pigment inks.

Here is the card I made for today.

I used the technique of stamping with white pigment ink and coloring in with different colors of pigment ink on kraft cardstock to achieve this soft look. The set I used is Hello Beautiful from Craftin Desert Divas. It was just released this April and was designed by Anna Kovalenko. I adore this set and this is the fifth card I have made with it. It is a must have! I used Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment ink and Avery Elle pigment inks but any pigment inks will work for this technique. In fact, I think Distress Oxide inks would work great as well and give a nice vintage look to a card. I may just give that a try in a few days. Below is my You Tube video.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you liked  the card!

Craftin Desert Divas April Release Day 3

Hi,
For today's cards, I worked with Mommy to Be which features our adorable trolls. I really love this set and think it is a must have.

For the first card, I also used our new Star Galaxy stencil and lightly inked the background with a very light grey dye ink. I then stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo black and colored them in with Copics. The baby carriage has a baby troll in it in the set but I wiped the ink off the baby so I could use it alone. I wanted to have a stack of gifts to give our mommy to be for her baby shower.

For this second card, I cut our Magic Slider SVG file using my Silhouette. I used my Silhouette print and cut feature to add the "We are expecting a baby...." to make this into a Gender Reveal magic slider card. I stamped the sentiment in pink ink and colored the swaddling blanket in pink ink to indicate that a baby girl was on the way. For the outside of the card I chose yellow so that it would not give the reveal away....I envisioned everyone at a gender reveal party pulling out the slider at the same time!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed these cards. I will have two more from this set for you next week!!!!

Craftin Desert Divas April Release Day 2

Hi,
This release features the gorgeous Hello Beautiful stamp set. I have two cards for you today.

For this first card, I stamped the main image and several of the other images in white pigment ink to cover the kraft panel. I then used  pink and red pigment inks with Fantastix to color the image in. I hope to have a video up soon showing this technique. It is easy and lots of fun!

For my second card - I used made a floral cluster from the main image embossed in gold onto vellum and the largest single flower and flowers stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The hello die is from Pocket Pieces. I used a 4 bar sized card so the cluster could over hang the edges.

Thank you for looking and I hope you are enjoying the release! I will be back with two more cards from Hello Beautiful next week!
