A Shaking Frog: Impression Obsession Die Cuts

So today is Die Cut Obsession Day over at the Impression Obsession blog here. On the blog you will find inspiration from other designers. As for me, I chose to use one of our new animal dies, the Frog. My grandchildren love frogs and love to catch them while they are visiting me so I made this card for them. I decided on a shaker card because I know they love shakers but also because the tree frogs have been seeking a high dry shelter on one of my windows lol!

I die cut the frog from some watercolor paper and used basic green and mixes of greens to paint the frog. For the background, I stamped Shaded Leaves CAC background with Vicki Boutin Art Crayons to color it. I wanted it to look like water. Overall the card is 4.5 x 4.5".

I used a slightly less than 4 in square die to cut the shaker square and then covered the opening with acetate. I doubled up the foam tape and cut it into thin strips and added that around the inside of the opening. I added some blue, gold, green and clear sequins.

The very back of the shaker is a blue panel which I covered with vellum as it was not quite working with the cover panel. I adhered the shaker panel to the back panel with Scor-tape. The sentiment is from Life Stuff Sentiments and I stamped that with Versafine Onyx black. I added googly eyes to make my grandchildren laugh. I will swap out the sentiment before I send it lol!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over to the Impression Obsession Blog
for more inspiration. Have a great day!
