Impression Obsession Challenge: Blue, Yellow and more practice...

Welcome to another Impression Obsession Challenge. There is a gift certificate up for grabs for those who enter their cards!!!! Head over to the Impression Obsession blog for more details - here. The cards are amazing.

I am learning how to work with yellow in watercolor. I am ok with yellow when using Copics or colored pencils but clearly I need work. Trying to use yellow watercolor and no line coloring might not have been a good choice for a first start. I got so uptight about the color I kept forgetting to look at my reference photo lol!!! However, I learned a lot! I am going to redo this because this dahlia stamp is just gorgeous.

Using my MISTI, I stamped the image onto Arches 140lb cold pressed paper using Antique Linen Distress ink. I used my Stoneground paints Hansa Yellow and Mars Orange for the initial wash and glazing. I added details with Armenian Purple Ochre and then some colored pencils.

I cut the die cut Hello from some deep blue-green card stock and stamped the smaller sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black. I adhered the die cut with Gina K Designs Connect Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets and it was done!

Thank you for stopping by! Don't forget to join the challenge because learning and possibly winning is great fun!
