Hot Pink Wheelbarrow: Impression Obsession Using Hot Colors Challenge

Hi,
We have a new challenge theme over at the Impression Obsession Blog. Please head to the blog for more details on how to play for a chance to win a gift certificate and for inspiration. The theme is Hot Colors. I assume Jeanne and Mitra chose this because it is summer here in the US! However, your card does not have to be summer themed. In fact, mine is not.

In fact, my card shows the Easter Bunny taking a vacation. We always see Santa taking a vacation but this stamp shows the Easter Bunny on a well-deserved vacation. Yes, a lounge in a hot pink wheelbarrow, a beverage - adult or not - with a carrot is always appropriate. So is sharing with a friend and using a yellow lampshade as an umbrella. You have to give the Easter Bunny credit for some creative thinking.

To create this vacation scene I stamped the Relaxing Easter Bunny with Memento Tuxedo Black and used a lot of different markers to color the stamp in. You could use any coloring medium. The pink Copics are RV02, RV04, and RV09. The bunny is E30, E50, and E51. The stylish umbrella is Y11, Y15 and Y18 with a bit of Greyed Lavendar colored pencil for shading.

I then colored the grass underneath the wheelbarrow with YG67. I had tried drawing in some grass with my Copics but it just did not look right. So I whipped out my Grass Border set and used the straightest lawn border. I then stamped the sentiment from Everyday Quotes 1 onto the border and then popped it up with 3M foam tape.

I still wasn't happy with this so I cut the panel down and then mounted it over some black and white patterned paper. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the wheelbarrow and lampshade.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come play over on the blog!
