Impression Obsession has a new challenge up on the blog. You can find the challenge instructions, how to win a gift certificate and see other designers' cards HERE.
So the challenge theme is Something That Flies and that could be anything that could or does fly. This led to quite the discussion in our team Facebook group. I have decided that snow flies. I am sure I read a book to my children where snow is described as flying! So that is my rationale for this card LOL!
Super easy card to make. Using my MISTI, I inked up Pretty Bough with Distress Ink Peeled Paint and sprayed a mist of water onto the inked stamp. I shut the door of the MISTI and stamped onto Ranger watercolor paper. I did this three times and when needed I added water with a water brushes. I then splattered the branch area with water and Shimmer Spray. I heat set all of this before moving onto the next step.
For the next step, it is important to treat your paper with an anti-static embossing bag or tool. Before I stamp the image, I test to make sure it is dry by placing some embossing powder onto it and making sure it doesn't stick.
Once I have determined that the paper is dry, I ink up the stamp with Versamark ink. I repeated this process three times as this paper has some texture. I used our new Floral Snowflake. I then added Hero Arts Silver embossing powder and heat set it. I love their embossing powders.
At this point I decided to cut the panel to 4 x 5.25". I added an A2 sized panel of silver glitter paper and layered the watercolor paper on top of that. For added interest, I added a twine bow and a bit of twine hanging from the top of the card. For the sentiment I used Tidings 2 - I sooooo love this font. I simply stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black using my MISTI.
Thank you for stopping by!
