I think as stampers we tend to want the latest new thing at least I do. However, sometimes if I just shopped my stash I might find what I want. So on Impression Obsession Old is New Day over at the blog we pull out stamps from several releases ago! I have out today one of my favorite background stamps, Faceted. It is a large Cover a Card background.
For today, I did something simple. Using my MISTI, I inked it up with Versamark ink and then stamped it onto Arches 140 lb cold press on the smooth side. I added some white heat embossing powder and carefully moved the heat gun across the paper to prevent warping. I then used my favorite water colors and brushes to color in with glazing. I used this method because it is relaxing and I could paint while in the kitchen keeping watch over my new rescue dogs. Dory and Peaches are still adjusting to coming here from foster care.
I die cut the sentiment from 2 pieces of white card stock and one piece of black and layered them. However, I slightly offset them to leave a bit of white showing. Then I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink and cut it into a strip which looks crooked but can't be. I used my T -Square ruler hmmmm. OH WELL. If you have any ideas let me know. It is a plastic ruler...
Actually if my Cut Align wasn't buried in my craft room...that would have been straight. If you get here and it is straight, it is because I found my Cut Align.
Thanks for stopping by and head to the Impression Obsession blog for more ideas;
