Impression Obsession Challenge: Fall or Halloween Colors

Hi, The new challenge at Impression Obsession is to use Fall or Halloween Colors on a project using Impression Obsession products. You can find lots of inspiration over on the blog. My experiment with Halloween colors was an epic fail - however, I will be back once I fix it - so I decided to share this potpourri container that I made with the large basket die. So easy. All I needed was four sheets of coordinating cardstock, some Scor-tape, and a bone folder! Plus I hardly made a mess of my desk!

I love bringing hostess gifts to parties and showers and this basket is perfect for holding candy, potpourri or make-up samples. The die is easy to use. Just cut four pieces with it, fold over the scored flaps and secure with dry adhesive. This is going to a friend and is filled with a potpourri made from dried tiny pumpkins and dried cinnamon! I am planning on making some more Fall colored gift baskets and then move forward to Christmas and winter colors.

The paper I used was ummmm very old - so I left two suggestions from Brutus Monroe below in the products section. I thought these two pads looked close enough to what I used. But anything including plain card stock will work. If you use a very thin paper, I would suggest backing the paper with a heavier layering card stock such as Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock before die cutting and scoring.

So head on over to the blog for more inspiration and to link to your project.

  1. THis is really that basket die, I can think of lots of ways to use it too!

  2. That's beautiful! And kudos to you for using up some old paper!!! If you are anything like me, you have a ton more you've been hoarding for years, so these baskets are the perfect way to put them to good use! 😁
