I really enjoyed working with the dies I selected. I have two cards today. My first card is an almost exact copy of one Cathy Zielske made. I chose to do this because I have been watching her design chats on her You Tube channel. I tweaked my card a little bit to make something special for my mother's birthday. First, I die cut Mom twice and the Magnolia Flowers from Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock. Then using a round foam ink blender I added pink, purple and yellow to one of each of the letters. I double layered the actual letters to give more dimension. I left the outline of each letter white. The actual top panel for the card is 4"x5.25" and I die cut Mom once from this to form an inlay base for mom.
Again, using the blender tool, I added simple color to each blossom but I left the centers white. I assembled the card by adhering the main panel to a 4.25" x 5.5" 110 lb card base. I then began adding the necessary die pieces for mom. I used Gina K Connect Glue to assemble this part of the card. For the flowers, I adhered the centers with Gina K Connect Glue and set those aside to dry.
The sentiment is from Life Stuff sentiments. I stamped that in a soft gray using my MISTI to position everything including the flowers first. The MISTI is a wonderful tool for aligning objects and sentiments. Once the sentiment was stamped I added the flowers. I used 3M foam tape to add dimension to each blossom. I then added clear glitter ink to each center. I did add some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh but admittedly I could have left those out. However, my mom loves sparkle and shine.
For this second card I used two of our new dies that are absolutely perfect fit for 4-Bar cards. I was so please to see the smaller postage stamp layers and the new chicken wire background. There are several more dies made for this card soon and I will have those posted soon. This card was so easy to make. I die cut the medium sized postage stamp from Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock. I die cut the chicken wire background from some older pink card stock. Then I die cut some Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock with the smallest postage stamp die.
I added some liquid adhesive to the edge of the chicken wire frame and dipped it in Distress Glitter Rock Candy for some shimmer. I then let that dry and added Glossy Accents to add shine and dimension. Using a precut 4-Bar card base, I added some patterened paper to the back panel. I then adhered all the remaining panels. I stamped the sentiment with some soft gray ink and used 3M foam tape to pop it up onto the chicken wire frame.
