Hi, Today the Impression Design team is using stamps from older releases because they are just as beautiful and inspiring as they were when they were released. You can find more inspiration on the IO Blog: here.
Today I used Monarch, a cling stamp released in Spring 2019, Fluff Cover-A-Card background released soooo long ago but it is a favorite and a new sentiment Tend the Little Things.
Using my regular sized MISTI, I removed the foam pad and stamped the butterfly in Versafine Onyx Black as I was going to be using a water based medium. I used Arches 140 lb Cold press watercolor paper for this image. Next I used my Karin Markers to color in the butterfly. I then used the black Karin marker to fill in the areas where the stamping was too light for the contrast I wanted.
Again using my regular sized MISTI, I stamped the Fluff Cover-A-Card cling stamp with a blue ink. I cannot remember the name lol. I mounted the butterfly onto the vellum using 3M FoaUm tape.
I wanted the sentiment to have some dimension as well. I think tending the little things during this pandemic is very important. I treated the vellum with a anti-static too. This is a cling stamp and easily lined up using the MISTI. I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black and added clear embossing powder. Using my pre-warmed up heat gun I melted the powder which gave the sentiment a raised and shiny look.
