My Sweet Petunia and Dare 2B Artzy Collaborative Hop

Hi,

Welcome to the collaborative hop between My Sweet Petunia and Dare 2B Artzy. You can find the start on the My Sweet Petunia blog or the Dare 2B Artzy blog. Both companies are giving away a $20 gift certificate to their store and there is a coupon code for 10% off non-sale items in each store from 10/29/2020 - 11/8/2020. The code is FALL10.

For my first card, I used Holiday Roses which is a Valentine's Day set. The etched details on the bouquet reminded me of a heavily woven damask. Using my MISTI and Versamark Ink, I stamped the bouquet several times onto a light peach card stock cut to 4" x 5.25". I then added Ranger Gold Super Fine Detail embossing powder to the panel and heat embossed this image. I then inked the edges of the panel with Versamark and added more gold embossing powder just to give this a finished look.

I stamped the sentiment which is from Lotus Blooming using my MISTI and Versamark ink onto to vellum. I was careful to treat the vellum beforehand with an antistatic tool and while embossing I kept my tool moving around the surface to prevent warping. I then die cut this out using a smaller rectangle from Hero Arts Infinity Dies. For this I also used Ranger Super Gold Fine Detail embossing powder.

I cut a piece of the peach card stock with the next size down die and adhered the vellum with liquid adhesive. I added the glue behind several of the letters. I popped this sentiment panel up onto the main panel with 3M foam tape. I then used liquid adhesive to adhere the main panel to the a light grey card.

For my second card I used Lotus Blooming which is an absolutely gorgeous set. Using my MISTI and Versamark Ink, I stamped the image onto Stonehedge black watercolor paper. This paper is heavily textured and I had to stamped the image several times. I also treated the paper with an anti-static powder tool. For embossing powder, I used Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold embossing powder. I repeated the process for the sentiment.

Technique wise, I used a technique from Jessie Banks found on her You Tube channel. I mixed up various dilutions of white watercolor paint. and gradually applied it to the open parts of the image. For the leaves that are etched I added the gold Fine Tec water color paint. Looking at this I should have added some gold splatter. Instead I added dew drops in gold and rose gold.

To enter the contest for the gift certificates, remember to leave a comment on each blog including this one.
