Hello and welcome to Die Obsession Day for Impression Obsession. On this day, we focus on cards made primarily with dies. You can find the full list of the designers on today's Impression Obsession blog post.
When I saw these dies in the draft of the February catalog, I was hesitant to try them. I think there are three sets of these quilting dies along with a stamp set that goes with them. The reason I was afraid to try is that I flunked sewing in junior high school. I couldn't piece the patterns together. However, this was easy once I die cut the large hexagon.
These dies are a great opportunity to pull out your gel press prints. These are from a class I took with Lydia Fieldler. I also threw in some dark navy solid pieces for contrast. These dies will cut out a stitched edge but that is not showing up in my photograph. It would be fun to do this and use some freestyle machine stitching to adhere them. For this I used liquid adhesive.
Using my MISTI and my new sticky mat for the MISTI, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I did pop this up with 3M foam tape. The sentiment is from Sew Awesome Sayings. I also used my MISTI to stamp the bunny using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used C00, C1 and C3 Copic Markers for the coloring. I added the headband from Knit Together Sock Friends - the bunny is from this set too. Love this set.
